Rehabilitation -- Best ones, worst ones & experiences (PA)

Hello! I'm writing on behalf of a family member who urgently, totally unexpectedly received an LVAD last May. He's been in and out of the hospital with little things (mostly volume status) but I'm trying to find THE BEST rehabilitation for him to go to. We were at Hershey Penn State rehab (owned 51% by select medical) and it was nice -- though they really missed the boat with a lot of medical management that would've kept us out of the hospital. UPenn is currently full with a wait list of LVADs so we're looking ANYWHERE around pennsylvania (including delaware or maryland). We're willing to do whatever it takes to get him strong. Does anyone have ANY experiences with rehabs and which ones worked best with their family members? Or which ones are worth staying far from? I'd so very much appreciate any help. We're so close to coming home after almost a year -- this is so important to us. Thank you!!

Hi, my name is Marcy and I live in Virginia. A lot of my past patients had to go into a rehab place in order for their loved ones to heal better. I use to work at a nursing home skilled facility where there was also an adult day care center and assistive living facility. A lot of our patients did have to go to rehab and sometimes I was asked to do research on a good place for them to be at. In order to do the research, I would just use google.com. Then, I would type in the research line: Rehab places in Fairfax County area. The main target for me was seeing the pictures of the facility and how many stars it had. If there were a lot of stars, then it was a great place. I would them bring it up to my boss and she would look at it and let me know if she liked it or not. A lot of rehab places would come up for us to look at. One of the good things about where I worked though was that it had rehab facilities for the residents as well. So, a lot of our people used our facility for rehab which made it helpful to the families. I wish you the best in finding the right rehab. Just remember to look at the star amounts and the pictures. Thank you.
