AICD

I had a aicd replaced as the battery was low.(this was the same day I had a colonoscopy)for a bleeding problem that was corrected. The new aicd was a Medtronic device. After spending the night in the hospital I was discharged. Two days later I heard a low musical signal from somewhere in my body. My wife called our LVAD coordinator to inquire wether the Lvad cold be signeling a problem. She never had this type complaint so she called Thoratec who also said it was not their signal. Now we go to Medtronics who met with us the next moy\rning to check our new AICD.In the meantime we heard thi signal every 4hrs,4pm,8pm 12am,4am.8am.The thoratec technician determined I had a loose wire in my device.Back to the hospital I went. The made an incision in the same spot as previous an left me a messy looking chest. Now 2wks later things have quietd down & hopefulley we get back to normal,if their is such a thing.

So I am relaying this story for you people that may need your device changed do not be afraid to suggest to the DR. that the wires are properly in place.

Hope this helps someone.
