I am sure your Dad is in good hands & things will go well.I am 82 yrs young & had my LVAD implanted in Feb 2012.Just think positive & say a prayer for him.
Thanks Walt. I would love to hear about your recovery as we are nervous about that. We do have a great team at the hospital and over the last 6 weeks have developed a close relationship with them; this does help calm my nervousness for the procedure. We are especially lucky because the LVAD coordinator at the hospital is very sweet and available to us whenever we have questions. Thanks again.
Focus on how much better his quality of life will be with the LVAD. I went from just wanting to die to wanting to find answers to my problem (which I did). Dealing with the equipment and the life changes are a bit annoying, but so many have endured so much worse that I think it is all in the attitudes of all LVAD patients and their supporters. Fortunately, I surrouded myself with positive, optimistic people. You be that person for your father!
