It would be nice if ...

It would be nice if you also included EX- Vadders.

Because we have been through the whole gambit of getting talked into getting a Heartmate, had the implant, dealt with the healing process, felt the worry of never getting a new ( ok pre-owned ) heart, and have gone through the ups and downs of life-after-VAD with the new heart.

Out tales may help the current Vadders realize there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Most of all.... I can honestly say....... IT WORKED!!!!

DTS-what a great idea!. Would you be willing to post more about your experiences? We think the community would love to hear more about what it is like to come through to "the other side" of the LVAD experience and have a heart transplant. Was is it what you expected? How does your life now compare to what you expected and hoped for?

Thank you!

Dear Ex-Vadder - Your perspective is invaluable to this community - please stay engaged! You've been through so much already and your journey did not end with the implant of the LVAD and neither shall many of those as part of the mylvad community. So I would encourage you to stay connected, share your wisdom, perspective and humor of having taken similar steps the others in this community are taking. Thank you for always encouraging each of us to think beyond our own boundaries.

To all currently living with an LVAD, here is your own personal "Dear VADDER" to ask those question of that you've been wondering about - he/she's been there - done that!

Be well - ckp

Its always good to hear it worked! I have had my VAD for 3 years and 3 months and have been fighting infection at the drive line site. I just recently got moved up on the heart transplant list. I would appreciate any thoughts and wisdom you could share. Like you were only in the Hospital for 8 days!!! Anything would be helpful. Glenn
