LVAD after stroke
Wed, 03/14/2018 - 3:14PMHi
My father is 60 years old who suffered a ischemic stroke on 11/1/2018. Right now he is half paralyzed with aphasia. He has chronic heart failure. His heart is working 15-20%. He had a bypass in 2006 and a pacemaker implanted in 2012.
I talked to a heart failure specialist who said our hope is LVAD. However, installing a LVAD in his condition is very difficult due to his inability to move. The doctors believe that walking again could not be possible because about 2 months have passed and he still hasn't walked. However, no one is certain because we haven't tried to get him to stand up.
I would like to know if anyone has any information about a similar case, please reply. I really appreciate any tips.
Thank you
