Leaky valve

It's been 2.5 years since my father 79 years old had LVAD. Recently after Ultrasound they told him a valve starting to leak and it's not a major concern at this time, I didn't go to visit with him so I'm not sure which valve. Has anyone experienced leaky valve after surgery? What was the outcome?
